The Christian Legal Society is a nationwide organization formed to foster Christian teachings in the legal community. The Society seeks to aid students who have the desire to incorporate the Christian lifestyle into the rigor of the law school environment. The Society also helps to foster Christian ideals to be incorporated in the practice of law. Weekly seminars are held featuring a variety of topics and speakers.
CLS is a national non-denominational membership organization of law students, working together with law professionals and others, to follow Jesus' command "to do justice with the love of God." (Luke 11:42; Matthew 23:23).
CLS was founded in the Chicago area in 1961 by four lawyers who met to pray together at an American Bar Association Convention in 1959. The Christian Legal Society is a wholly religious not-for-profit 501(c)(3) Illinois corporation with its principal place of business now in Annandale, Virginia (a suburb of Washington, D.C.).
Mission
To be the national grassroots network of lawyers and law students, committed to proclaiming, loving and serving Jesus Christ, through all we do and say in the practice of law, and advocating biblical conflict reconciliation, public justice, religious freedom and the sanctity of human life.
LOCAL MISSION
To transform the legal profession for good one heart and mind at a time by enlisting law students everywhere to faithfully serve Jesus Christ in the diligent study and ethical practice of law while continuing in established relationship with our Lord and Savior.

Scripture of the Month
